Best Places to Visit in India

Best time to visit India

India’s weather can be pretty extreme, so timing your trip makes a big difference. Generally, the best time to visit is from November to March, when it’s not too hot and most places are dry and comfortable.

In South India, this season is especially great—temperatures are milder, and it’s much easier to explore without melting in the heat. We found Kerala and Goa perfect during these months: sunny days, cool evenings, and just the right vibe for beaches or backwaters. Just keep in mind it’s also the high season, so popular spots can get busy and a bit pricier.

THE REAL TRAVELER TIP

Cash is the most widely accepted payment method.

You will need it for small shops or shops that do not accept foreign credit cards. Most accommodations will also prefer cash payments. India has a QR-code payment which is sadly not for foreigners.

Book accommodation with 1-2 weeks in advance during high season & expect higher prices on weekends.
